    Lake Skinner

    Lake Skinner is found 10 mi (16 km) from Temecula, located close to camping areas, picnic grounds, boat rentals and hiking trails. Fishing is permitted on the lake, but no water sports or swimming are permitted. It is open year-round to visitors.

    Vail Lake
    Located 15 mi (24 km) from Temecula, Vail Lake offers a range of services. Stocked with a variety of fish, the lake is open year-round to anglers and also provides camping facilities, concession stands and a marina with boat rentals.

    Diamond Valley Lake

    Providing water to Southern California, Diamond Valley Lake also offers hiking trails, fishing areas, camping sites and a recreation park. Close to the Santa Rose Plateau Ecological Reserve, visitors can see a number of animals, including deer, birds, mountain lions and eagles. Swimming is not allowed in the lake, but fishing and limited boating are permitted. A marina is found at the lake for boat rentals and a concession.
