    Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve

    Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve is located northwest of Murrieta and features a range of recreational and educational services. Inside the reserve are adobe structures circa 1845, seasonal vernal pools, trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding and numerous species of animals, insects, plants and birds. Tours of the plateau is offered to groups by reservation, as well as public programs and bikes tours on Saturdays. The visitors center is open year round on Saturdays and Sundays, with additional hours on Thursdays and Fridays, October through May.
